On Tuesday October 6th, David attended the first of several local school board forums. Tuesday's forum was a meet and greet with the Crozet Elementary PTO. David spoke with parents and teachers about his commitment to funding our schools, eliminating the role of high stakes testing in student and teacher evaluations, and supporting creativity and professional freedom in the classroom. He also answered parent concerns regarding the overcrowding in our schools, funding for pre-k programs, and the opportunities and challenges of distance learning. David will be attending additional forums as follows: Wednesday October 7, 2015, 6:30 p.m. at Henley Middle School (the Charlottesville Tomorrow/Daily Progress White Hall Forum); Tuesday October 12, 2015, 6:30 p.m. at Brownsville Elementary (Brownsville PTO); Tuesday October 12, 2015, 7:30 p.m. at Crozet Arts (Crozet Community Association); Wednesday October 13, 2015, 6:30 p.m. at Western Albemarle (League of Women Voters/Parent Council); and Thursday October 14, 7 p.m. at Broadus Wood Elementary (Earlysville Area Residents' League). David looks forward to meeting his neighbors and learning their concerns for our schools.
